Safe Routes to School Bike Clearinghouse

The MPO completed a Safe Routes to School (SR2S) report for the Bryan/ College Station area in FY 2006.  A call for project applications for the Safe Routes to School Program, opening on January 19, 2007 and closing on May 25, 2007 was published in the Texas Register on January 19, 2007. The call requested applications for infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects. The City of College Station and the City of Bryan both turned in grant applications to the Texas Department of Transportation for funding of their projects.  In Minute Order 111071 on September 27, 2007 the City of Bryan was awarded $283,235 for signals for Henderson and Sul Ross Elementaries.  The City of College Station was awarded $47,710 for sidewalks for College Station ISD.
